Unboring Boring

Role: Creative Operations and Creative Project Manager

The Unboring Boring campaign was all about repositioning Picsart for solopreneurs by demonstrating how creative tools can transform even the most ordinary businesses. The campaign took place in the small town of Boring, Oregon, where we partnered with three local businesses—a theater, a coffee roaster, and a Bigfoot museum—to show how Picsart’s tools could breathe new life into their branding.

To bring these stories to life, we produced 3 documentary-style videos capturing not just the transformation, but also the personality and story behind the businesses. We built a dedicated campaign hub where visitors could see all the videos, as well as explore tutorials, templates, and stickers that were created as complements to the campaign.

This was Picsart’s first 360 campaign and was rolled out across YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook, and extended beyond digital channels with OOH placements in Portland and San Francisco (including a handpainted mural!). The films were also screen in local theaters in Portland, aligning our goal of supporting independent businesses while engaging the local audience.

The campaign earned features in AdAge and Marketing Brew, and was nominated for a Webby Award.

With over 40 million impressions across platforms and boosted search interest by 80, Unboring Boring successfully positioned Picsart as more than just a consumer app—it reintroduced the brand as a creative partner for small businesses.
